A Week in Dorset.
Brownsea Island. (25/5/13)
A day-trip to Browsea Island in Poole Harbour is a must-do for birders. The Sandwich Terns nest very close to the hides (run by Dorset Trust) although all but one island are now surrounded with chicken wire to repel deer!  The paths to the hides are good for damselflies also.

Large Red Damselfly.
I was lucky to get some good shots of one of the resident Red Squirrels also in the forest.

Other birds of note included several Oystercatchers and the ubiquitous Black-headed Gull. An egg actually hatched as we watched!
