Lace Wars at Croft Castle.

The Lace Wars Society visited Croft Castle in June and treated us to an impressive re-enactment of a significant part of our Union`s history.

The Jacobite Rebellion could have changed everything if it had been successful! The Scottish would not have needed a referendum for one thing....

(`Lace Wars` is made up of a number of regiments depicting both military and civilian life during the 18th Century. Specializing in the period 1740-1760 and in particular the Jacobite rebellion, they stage events throughout the year at historic sites in the UK and Europe). Their web site is http://www.lacewars.co.uk/ for further information and a detailed history: it is well worth a look.
