Flowering heather and ponies in The Carding Mill Valley (Long Mynd).

We have finally managed to walk The Burway Loop and visit the Lightspout Waterfall on The Long Mynd when the heather has been in full flower: a day of full sun was too much to hope for of course!
Nonetheless, some nice pictures were possible of the heather during sunny(ish) spells and a small group of ponies on Pole Bank were an added treat.

Lightspout Waterfall was worth the detour as the recent rain had ensured plenty of water would be tumbling over the rocks.

Lightspout Waterfall.
The ponies are very tolerant of people although care should be taken not to disturb them; they can be dangerous if protecting a foal!
