Blue Rock Thrush in Stow-on-the-Wold; Cotswolds.

Well, that's done it; we are now twitchers....

Well-behaved twitters who kept of lawns etc...

The weather was supposed to be light cloud according to the Met 'Office - pity about the fog and rain and mist....

The bird spent most of its time on top of chimneys - good views through the scope but terrible for photography with the grey misty sky etc.
Still, I did try digiscoping and I can't really complain about this shot at 50x magnification through my Swarovski ATX with APO adapter. (There has been significant post processing including the manual removal of chromatic aberrations in Lightroom. (Not a problem at 25x it should be noted).

I had just a moment to grab a shot in the tree nearby - not bad in spite of the poor light.

It was great fun and I fear we may be well and truly hooked - although there are no plans to dash of to Shetland at the moment....
However, if we get any sun I now know exactly where to see a flock of Waxwing thanks to Rare Bird Alert....
