Nightingales at Dering Wood, Kent.

April 22nd.

April has been a productive month with a week spent in Kent with 'The Loud One' and her deafened better half providing some terrific birding - the singing Nightingales in Dering Wood being the highlight as one male provided some fleeting good views for the camera in the newly-coppiced section of woodland. (The volunteers and managers of this woodland are to be congratulated for their effective work over the last few years that have yielded great results in the form of birds, wild flowers and butterfly numbers).

Such a charismatic and elusive bird is worth a post of its own...
